Your Brits acceptance speech was great and sincere. Thanks for being real and humble about the Glastonbury thing. I wanted to let you know that you are an inspiration and bang on with your approach.

I’m a small town girl from the South West of England, not too far from Glastonbury. I used to jump the train to the local town and then jump the fence to the festival back in the early 90’s. I wanted to let you know that Glastonbury was and is about music, all music. And yours fits it like a glove. Its always the same, as you well know, hip hop gets sidelined in main stream media and Glastonbury came from the indie scene, and by that i don’t just mean rock and guitar driven stuff, but it often gets lumped in there. Glastonbury is also about sidelined musical styles and a celebration of such, to bring hip hop to the forefront is fantastic. I grew up in the countryside of Devon. My access point to music wasn’t the ‘mainstream indie’. It was a dub reggae sound system that was run in a country pub (The Lanterns, Ashburton) and Glastonbury, it gave me my passion for a good baseline and poetry. For that, i am grateful.

To cut a long story short. You are an inspiration and a gentleman for embracing small mindedness and giving it a shot, thank you.
